GREETINGS DAKOTA

From Mark & Leigh

Hi Dakota. We are Mark and Leigh. We put together this page to tell you about ourselves and show you some of the things we like to do. We live in a house in Durham, NC with our cat (Olive) and our dog (Priscilla). Leigh is a professor at UNC, and Mark is a professor at Elon.

This is Olive. As you can see, she is solid black. Olive is nine years old. She enjoys taking naps in the sun. She keeps to herself a lot.

This is Priscilla. She is a pug and is five years old. Don't you love her sweater? She wears it when it is cold outside. Priscilla is a very sweet girl. She loves to snuggle, and she wants everyone to rub her tummy! She likes playing fetch and chase. Her favorite food is peanut butter. She gives lots of kisses. Priscilla is very smart. She can give you a high five!

We like to do lots of fun things. One of our favorite things to do is travel and see new places! We heard that you like to ride horses. Guess what? We do too!

We took a trip to Arizona once and spent the day riding horses with Navejo Indians on their reservation. We rode down into a canyon and got to see lots of cool things. We also like to go white water rafting. Sometimes we even travel out of the country! Here is Mark on our trip to the Amazon Jungle in Ecuador, South America. That's the jungle behind him! If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?

At home we enjoy many things. In the summer, we like swimming. We have a pool in our backyard. It is 6 and 1/2 feet in the deep end, but only 3 feet in the shallow end. There is plenty of room for doing cannonballs into the deep end!

Leigh likes to bake. She can bake cakes, cookies, brownies - you name it! She made these cookies last year at Easter:

Mark likes to take pictures (he took most of the ones you are seeing here). He also enjoys cooking and hiking. We both like to play board games.

We can't wait to hear more about what you like to do! You can even say hi in the comments section at the bottom if you'd like.
